Why did she scream and smash glass🧑🏼‍🚒

A SIMPLE QUESTION ?? WHY IS THERE NO NATIONAL FUNDED MEDIA, RADIO AND TV ADVERTISING ? ? SIMILAR TO THE ADVERTISING ON THE RECALL OF DANGEROUS BATTERIES THAT IS CURRENTLY BEING EXPOSED ON TV. ?? A ADVERTISEMENT EXPRESSING THE TERRIBLE REPERCUSSIONS AND TRAGIC DANGERS OF THE BUTTON...Read full review »

“Think you might have ADHD? Here’s a prescription for Dexamfetamine.” Yeah, after a GP referral, a 3-month wait and a $300 specialist appointment. This sort of sloppy, dangerously inaccurate generalisation is indicative of Background Briefing’s slide into tabloid sensationalism and dog-whistle...Read full review »

insight into reality tv and the devastating consequences when tv meets real life - I applaud Olivia for her bravery and resilience - a very balanced story without the drama 🤣 - well done ABC!
Cho Ku via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 06/25/24
It was actually very informative to hear Olivia’s version of events. I think anyone that the public needs to take a good hard look at itself and remember if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all! Olivia you need to become an advocate for online bullying.. You could truly...Read full review »

I’m glad she’s not fearless anymore. Stop and think about how your words and actions might affect others - it’s called maturity
Maxtopia via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 06/15/24
The presenter’s voice is so relaxing and hypnotic that I can’t concentrate on the story. 😂 She should do those sleep stories.
eunce via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 11/15/23
I love this show. Very disturbing insights into what happens to whistleblowers
meditfsa via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 11/12/23
This show has always been great investigative journalism. But the choice of stories have gradually drifted more off into topics that are no longer interesting. I just don’t want to listen to any of the stories any more.
fincle via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 06/06/23
I normally like the show and rate it highly, but the ABC have got this one terribly wrong. This is a very poor report of how guardianship works. The reporter even likened it to conservatorship in the USA. So wrong. Shame, I really liked this show.
J45h87t via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 03/24/23
This was very difficult to listen to at times due to the presenter’s “glottal fry”.

I come from France and I am absolutely shocked that women in Australia have to go to a GP for any gynaecological procedure. You wouldn’t go to a GP to get your teeth done! The female reproductive organ is both specialised and sensitive. I reckon it deserves more respect and specialised care. But...Read full review »

This is generally a really good podcast, but the forced “casual” conversations between journalists are such an unnecessary component of the storytelling (e.g., in the most recent episode, the “oh hey Mieta did ya watch that clip I sent ya? Pretty bad hey?” or whatever). It’s just a bit cringey lol
megsrmegs via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 11/12/22
Such a great ep. And goes to some truths about gyno pain and the lack of concern in medical circles. It’s as if we as women just have to suck it up. I remember a shocking experience with one of Melbournes “best” gynos who was rough and tbh borderline abusive. Well done ABC!

Can always count on you. Love my ABC.

The medicinal cannabis hit piece reeked of old fashioned bias and typical satanic panic styled faux outrage. Some of the earlier episodes were good but this one turned me off big time.
Animos1 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 10/14/22
Quality stuff! In recent days, we really need more investigate journalist type program like this! Thanks

Background Briefing is standout, informative journalism in an easy to consume format. There are a million podcasts by content creators with limited professional rigour. This program stands out because the journalists, producers and editors do the hard work before bringing a show to air.
Savvy Ro via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 10/05/22
Truly every episode is a masterpiece!

Each story is thoughtfully researched and told, making for easy listening despite the complex and serious topics covered - from COVID-19, sexual abuse in aged care, judicial accountability and more.
sandstrod via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 03/01/22
Really enjoyed the topics. It’s presented in a clear and thought provoking way.

What a beat up. This man, Iman, is completely guilty. And by his own admission. Why is this a sympathetic story? I am far left politically and my job is teaching ESL to many cultures and faiths but this is just rot.
theokatie via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 08/13/21
Last one very disappointing context and out of your ordinary high class subject matter. Dean Wells openly admitted he and Tracey were faking it to make money from appearances post production. Why did you give oxygen to this?

I started to cry when you read your victim’s impact statement and didn’t stop till we’ll after the episode finished.
