Not quite back to brilliance yet, for me
For me, the new series of Bad People is taking an odd turn. While the energy and enthusiasm are still there, the overall style and format have shifted in a way that feels more shallow to me. I understand they’re limited by what can fit into each episode, but this wasn’t a problem in previous seasons, where I felt the topics were handled with more nuance and maturity. I think that the newer, more dramatic and performative approach makes the podcast feel less thoughtful and more like typical true crime entertainment. Dr Julia Shaw remains remarkable.

Sofie is funny and brings relatable and interesting perspectives. They don’t have the expertise that Dr. Shaw does, but often voices an opinion or interpretation that is shared by many.
