“For me, the new series of Bad People is taking an odd turn. While the energy and enthusiasm are still there, the overall style and format have shifted in a way that feels more shallow to me. I understand they’re limited by what can fit into each episode, but this wasn’t a problem in previous seasons, where I felt the topics were handled with more nuance and maturity. I think that the newer, more dramatic and performative approach makes the podcast feel less thoughtful and more like typical true crime entertainment. Dr Julia Shaw remains remarkable.”
