Interesting story framed with annoying narrative
Instead of just sharing her research, the author finds it necessary and, I guess, profitable to construct a narrative that features her as the hero. In this world, people have nothing but contempt for the victims, but the brave author is here to fight back against the patriarchy. I am obsessed with this podcast. The story telling and depth for these women’s lives and experiences is so well crafted and considered, I was absolutely heartbroken to find it’s only up to episode 5. I cannot wait for the rest of the episodes.

When I subscribed to this I didn’t realise it was by the lady who wrote The Five so I was pleasantly surprised. The negativity and misogyny she attracts is mind boggling! I loved the book this podcast is based on. Written by the host, The Five takes the canonical victims and turns them into real people, not just the cardboard cutouts of popular myth.
