I am a newer follower of what once was @TheBalancedBerry. My mom is actually the one who introduced me to Les’ page because she’s somewhat local (I’m in Portland) and focused on a wide variety of nutrition and exercise-related content. I have ALWAYS struggled with my weight and also have insulin-resistance and PCOS. I just wanted to THANK YOU so much for starting this podcast. From what I can tell, it’s one of a kind in that it takes into consideration people of color when talking about health, fitness and nutrition, and I haven’t found any other content that really focuses on the two at once. I can relate to the whole showing up the gym and being the only brown girl there, or getting the weird looks from people because I wanna bust out my cardio to salsa music. It is SO important to have a welcoming and inclusive space for people of color to be themselves in the fitness and nutrition world. We deserve it just as much as anyone else! Thank you, Les, for creating this virtual β€œspace” for us olive-skinned, bushy-browed-curly-haired, thick women of color to come together and feel like we BELONG. And I hope to connect with you in real life someday since we are basically neighbors! ☺️ I look forward to listening to more episodes, thanks again!!

The energy of this podcast is very peaceful and happy. That’s the way I feel after finishing an episode. The guests Led invites are all very knowledgeable and inspiring. I have been introduced to so many new things in a short amount of time. This podcast is a very positive influence on my life.

I love how much she advocates self care for colored women. It helps me nevigate how I want to take care of my physical and mental health. I also really appreciate how much people share they fail self caring. The vulnerability they share in this podcast is really what make self caring sustainable.
