5 stars is not enough!!
First, I cannot tell you how much I talk about this podcast, I stumbled upon it one day and the title “balanced black girl” was striking and caught my attention! The first episode that I listened to had me hooked! I could not believe the insight and advice that I was hearing! It’s like it unlocked something in my brain! I recommended this and sent episodes to family and friends, and they have told me how much they enjoyed it, and it just has opened up so much dialogue between me and my friends and my family and even my husband! Me and my husband listened to a couple of episodes together on a road trip! But more than trying to send it to others to help them and open up dialogue, I feel that this podcast helps me to understand me. I am complicated but it seems like you get it and you untangle me in ways I can’t even understand. One point from this recent episode about journaling is that I had always heard about cathartic experiences, and I thought that that was just something that musicians had when they wrote a song, but I realize the more that I journal and I dump my feelings out on paper (I’m a pen and paper girly) the better I feel and that in itself is a cathartic experience. It helps me to get the ruminating thoughts out of my head and on paper and then from there there’s clarity, there is resolution, there is healing. I received some great encouragement and tips from this episode that I cannot wait to implement! I feel that I was balanced spiritually, professionally but this podcast has helped me to be balanced emotionally. Les you are doing your thing! I am not a YouTube watcher I prefer to listen on audio and I try to stay off social media for my own mental health but I am enjoying so many of the audio podcast episodes and have benefited greatly from the wisdom and experience of you and your guest! Please keep them coming! P.s. I have been needlessly withholding this review ..not because I don’t think it deserves 5 stars but because I don’t usually like putting forth the energy to write reviews …which is a little nutty because I rely so heavily on reviews for a lot of things! So part of me doing this is apart of me rewiring my brain and trying to make changes! Les You deserve to know how good you are doing! (Prov 3:27)

I love how much she advocates self care for colored women. It helps me nevigate how I want to take care of my physical and mental health. I also really appreciate how much people share they fail self caring. The vulnerability they share in this podcast is really what make self caring sustainable.

I’m a new listener from London, England and I came across this podcast after a recommendation. It is so insightful to hear the insights from other women of colour in the wellness space. I often find that the wellness space is dominated by certain demographics but I feel that this podcast is the...Read full review »

What a great addition to the wellness space, bringing serious topics like race and feminism to the often fluffy kumbaya wellness space. I love this!!!! Hoping it’s the start of a new wave of diverse voices in a space that’s dear to my heart!
