The Hardcore History of strength training podcasts
This has become my favorite podcast in no time. Very informative. The two hosts complement each other nicely: you’ve got Matt - a frantic, word spitting energy ball, combined with Scott - who should start an alternative career as an audio book narrator. Just start with episode 1 and work your way up (especially ‘Simple, hard, effective’, ‘ A quick and dirty guide to barbell physics’ and ‘Stress, recovery, adaptation’ are golden). And yeah, it’s all pretty American and from time to time they tend to go overboard with the locker room talk. But look past that, and you’ve got yourself a podcast that you would recommend to the next random person that says hello. But most of all, it motivates me to train better. You run out of excuses pretty fast when you hear a stage 4 cancer patient talking about training through 4 years of chemo. Or an 80+ year old talking about making deadlift PR’s as if she’s sharing cookie recipes. And if you don’t get the Hardcore History-reference, do yourself a favor and look that up too.
