Battles of the First World War Podcast
Over the past 3-4 years I have become somewhat of a WW1 fanboi, somewhere between an enthusiast and an obsessive. I seek out all manner of historical accounts, books -- both fiction and non -- on the Great War (which I find to be the most compelling, tragic and even most "instructive" of all wars), from Keegan to Graves to Junger. I even recently visited Ypres for a battlefield/cemetery bike tour around the city (Strongly recommend Last Post at Menin Gate and Flanders WWI Museum). In any case, I happened upon Mike's podcast about 9-12 mos. ago. It has been a revelation. I enjoy his these accounts immensely; objective, compelling and factual. I have learned a lot from them. I also have greatly enjoyed his guest podcasts. BFWWP is a very "honest" podcast. Mike, please keep them coming. If I may be so bold, would love to hear a podcast on Ypres 1, 2, and 3. Paschendaele would be grimly fascinating.Read full review »

Mike's attention to detail, well spoken & delivered effort to present the battles of the Somme (so far) in an even handed manner is why podcasting has become my go-to form of entertainment. Outstanding job mate, keep em coming! 👍🏽👍🏽Read full review »

Love the dedication to the battles. Provides a different perspective than other WWI podcasts. I wish there would be a little more detail into the equipment, weapons, etc used
