“The depth of the episodes is great, but itβs pretty obnoxious that the hosts keep mocking every aspect of the subjectsβ lives. The Stalin episode, for example, consists heavily of laughter at the terrible circumstances of his childhood and upbringing including that he was beaten savagely, run over by a horse and buggy, and spurned by his drunken parents. These were awful people, but ultimately their stories as a whole are undeniably tragic, at least to some degree. SYSK has proven that there can be a good balance between humor and serious acknowledgment, and I think this show would benefit from a more restrained stance.”
