Needs More Balance
The depth of the episodes is great, but it’s pretty obnoxious that the hosts keep mocking every aspect of the subjects’ lives. The Stalin episode, for example, consists heavily of laughter at the terrible circumstances of his childhood and upbringing including that he was beaten savagely, run over by a horse and buggy, and spurned by his drunken parents. These were awful people, but ultimately their stories as a whole are undeniably tragic, at least to some degree. SYSK has proven that there can be a good balance between humor and serious acknowledgment, and I think this show would benefit from a more restrained stance.

It seems well research and could be great but why why why have that girl just sit there and make wise cracks. Help your self find someone that will do some research and have a conversation about it with you.

But if you start to count how many times some of the guests say “god” or “Jesus Christ” it gets repetitive real fast and that’s annoying

It’s cute how the HowStuffWorks crew all guest on each others’ podcasts but it doesn’t always work. The Cosby and Weinstein episodes were fantastic. The current one (Griselda) not so much.
