Bill Cosby is a convicted rapist. Not a civil rights hero.
This episode was my introduction to this podcast. By about 45 minutes in I had to stop. They spend an odd amount of time incoherently navigating Cosby’s race relations that they they almost forget this supposed to be about his crimes as a serial rapist. They start by criticizing him for chastising black youth culture, and by the time I had enough, they were basically calling him a civil rights hero. All the while I only heard one victim’s testimony in that time frame. I get that he broke a glass ceiling and opened the gates for others to succeed, but he also raped several women which is a point they get back to eventually, but not before circling back on his 3 emmys for I Spy for a third time. It’s a weird episode to jump into I guess, but there’s far better stuff out there I’m gonna explore before I try and see if these guys pick up on why this is problematic.

This podcast is super well researched, interesting, and entertaining. TBH, I expected no less from Robert Evans. Stoked to keep listening!

Have only listened to the Saddam episode so far, but I like their banter. Two funny people taking the piss out of horrible people does make for a good podcast; an interesting take on historically-based topics. Edit: LOVED the Stalin episode too, bring back Brandie again please :)

I have laughed obnoxiously loud at random moments at work with my headphones on.
