A great podcast from people who really know musical theater
I rarely would write iTune reviews, but this podcast has certainly won the place in my heart as the best musical theater podcasts out there. Nowhere else would you be able to listen to pioneers in contemporary musical theater sharing their fascinating experience from their time on the Great White Way. This podcasts introduced me to many old hidden gems of obscure musicals that did not get much love at the time but had beautiful score that is worth checking out. Kids nowadays only know about the Wickeds, the Phantoms, the Aladdins, etc of Broadway, and do not realize there has been so much history and so many stories of how modern American musicals are invented by extraordinary creative people who loved what they were doing. I also enjoy the array of guests on the show, ranging from actors, dancers, choreographers, artistic and set design, costume designers, stage and company managers, PR, directors, composers, writers, producers, and critics. Besides the guest interviews, I also look forward to My Favorite Things, where they would try so hard to give as few clues as possible for the other person to guess that their favorite thing was. These banters and exchanges are always entertaining to listen to, and you always feel like you're rooting for one of them to get it right. I am fascinated by how much these two hosts know about theater, and how they are able to guess the name of the show just by using the year it opened. Blew my mind! There are a few other musical theater podcasts out there that are trying so hard to make their comments seem relavant when their knowledge on the subject is barely minimum. Please continue to do these fabulous podcasts. I'm one of your biggest fans! Also contributed to the Patreon campaign as well. :)Read full review »

Clearly this for people who have a more than passing understanding of musical theatre or theatre in general - that is not to say the novices wouldn't find it enlightening and entertaining. But the refressing thing is that they get GREAT people who work in the theatre and they ask them...Read full review »
