Comforting
Hello ! I just want to say I am glad for this podcast and look forward to many more. Becca's voice is very soothing to listen to and the subject matter is very timely. As a mature woman, I have experienced loss as both a mother and wife, and I am finding society a bit harsh to the qualities of women that make us who we are in the feminine. It is also often not "safe" to be "too sensitive", nor is it easy when we are wounded and just looking to gain some footing in the world, a way to still stand, especially alone. The concept of sisterhood in these modern, hectic, chaotic times is a challenge in itself. Finding like minded women, available women, women not trying too hard to do other than BE our own true selves, is hard. It's frightening to be ourselves, especially when we are wounded and vulnerable. From a place as low as anyone can go in this world, I can say if there is one thing I still reach for, it is the soul comfort of women, of my own kind, of my own tribe. Child loss, a runaway husband; only women can truly understand the places we go when such things happen. Sans understanding, a woman can at least imagine that desolate place. Belonging to a tribe is paramount when personal disasters tear us to pieces; we need women to help us still stand up. Somethings never heal, somethings just need comfort and understanding. Sisterhood is the best place to find that. Thank you Becca for opening the subject. Well done.Read full review »
