Absolutely love this podcast!
Thanks Mark for putting together such an informative, entertaining and well presented podcast. It's obvious just how much hard work and preparation goes into making each episode. I'm from South Wales In the UK and have been a loyal New Orleans Saints fan for around 15 years (Obviously your history of the Saints episode has been my favourite so far!). Being a Saints fan means I have an interest in the city New Orleans, and I enjoy reading about its culture, history and places of interest. What I love most about your podcast is the unique insight and perspective of the city it gives. This is achieved by the way you share your own personal experiences and stories, in addition to those of your special guests. When listening to each episode it's easy to tell just how much the city of New Orleans means to you and the people that live there. It's interesting, informative, an absolute joy to listen to and always seems to give a little lagniappe! This year, after lots of saving, I will finally be realising a dream of mine to Visit New Orleans and see the Saints play in the Superdome. My wife and I will be visiting over the Halloween weekend which I'm sure will be amazing! Your podcast has been a been a great resource to help plan for our visit and make the most of our short stay. It has helped us identify places to visit, sights to see, food to try and places to eat. It even helped us choose our hotel in the French quarter and learn so much more about the big easy. Your genuine passion and enthusiasm for the city makes us even more excited to experience the sights, sounds, food, culture and magic of new New Orleans, especially the atmosphere of game day and the WHO DAT chant in all its glory! Keep the episodes coming, and thanks again for creating such a brilliant podcast. Richard JeremiahRead full review »

Even though I was born in New Orleans and spent the first 21 years of my life there I have learned a great deal from each episode of Beyond Bourbon Street. For full disclosure, I worked for the host's father at the family restaurant for a few years during and after high school. I have...Read full review »

Mark fills this niche, throwing in a great deal of historical info and personal perspective throughout. The framework of the...Read full review »

Mark does a fantastic job with the show and demonstrates how the niche can be appealing to the many. As a life-long resident, I enjoy hearing his take on familiar spaces. I also haven't done everything locally (who ever has?) and I love hearing about activities and locations I wrote off as...Read full review »
