“This podcast is a ray of light for me, especially thru Trump and COVID. I didn't actually expect that I would like the podcast initially, because it wasn't meant to include the actual humorous tidbits from the show. But I am finding that I really appreciate the work and thinking and ideas behind what they do at the show, and as actual PEOPLE having experiences and their interaction with the world.
It's sometimes hard to know how to reach out across those social constructs and boundaries. What I appreciate about the conversations in this podcast is the intelligent and inclusive insight Roy brings to those conversations. He don't just get behind the production of the scenes, but also behind the issues themselves that satire aims to illuminate. These conversation ALSO suspend the social boundaries we get pinned into (despite our best efforts sometimes) in real life.
I love that they’re actually looking underneath the realities of the problems themselves in the podcast, more than just the production of how the Daily Show tells it's jokes. it's a really valuable conversation, and I'm so happy I started listening.
