I’ve listened to a few episodes so far, having found this podcast 2 days ago. I love that cases about black and brown women who are often forgotten about in the media is highlighted on here and I love learning about their stories, but theres no in-depth research regarding their stories. Also, the...Read full review »

I Love this podcast! The host is well spoken and knowledgeable. You can tell she does the research needed. Also, to the few reviews of people crying about this being a BLACK girl gone podcast only..GO CRY ABOUT IT. Anyone with sense knows that when black women come up missing and or murdered it...Read full review »

The topic of the show is near and dear to me. The show has a wonderful premise. The issue is the host. I can tell she is not a journalist. She just skims the surface of all of these topics with internet research. It’s like she is just reading a Google search out loud. I would be ok with this if...Read full review »

I love this show. The stories are well researched, detailed, and always respectful to the victims — who Amara works tirelessly to let their names & stories be known and advocate for them. Thank you for doing what mainstream media won’t. These girls deserve justice.

I started listening to this podcast about two weeks ago, and I haven’t been able to stop. I listen in all my free time. Amara relays these cases in a way that honors the victims and raises awareness about how systemic racism and oppression causes these stories to be overlooked by police...Read full review »

Not only are the stories well researched, the host is a great storyteller. These are important stories and need to be heard. Though many of the stories are dated, this podcast allows those women to hopefully seek some kind of justice. Focusing on women of color is beautiful. And after reading...Read full review »

Are you going to cover the fake disappearance of Carlee Russell? Yeah, I didn’t think so… Edit: the title of this podcast is pretty racist. You should care about all people regardless of color. This podcast is okay. It’s real value comes from covering cases of black victims. I’ve heard of some of the cases, but other may not have. The host is pretty much summarizing news articles and Wikipedia (if it exists) so there’s no investigative journalism happening. Very monotone. The topic...Read full review »

This podcast is so captivating, due in large to the beautiful voice of the host! Her voice has a way of pulling you into the story, very similar to a good audiobook. In this case, with true crime stories, it’s almost unsettling (in a good way). The writing is also excellent and holds a great deal...Read full review »

This podcast is one of my favorites. I love listening about the misfortune of those who I can actually relate to. I have an auntie who went missing in January 2006 so the heartbreak is relatable. I’m about to cry just writing this. Just listened to Asia, after finishing the story of the 11 year old girl that just walked off. The pain these families must feel is unimaginable. Thank you for telling their stories in such a meaningful way. They deserve to be told. To be known. 😭💔

Love the style of reporting, and the host’s soothing tone. However I truly wish there was more investigative research done to so that more than a surficial knowledge to the cases are added, especially since many of these have been cold for decades. Also, there is some skipping in the episode that...Read full review »

Nice podcast. I love that I can follow the story. But, yes there is a but, some of the editing is off. I can be listening and the part I just listened to will be repeated. The shoes that this happens on the ending of that show is cut off.

I enjoy listening to this podcast. However, the sound quality is sub-par. Sometimes it’s so quiet you have to turn the volume way up and then the next part is so loud it blasts your eardrums.
