Great Podcast for Black Girls Like Me!
It is refreshing to listen to a podcast hosted by four black women! I commute to work daily and listened to The Nerdist for the longest time (which I still do on occasion), but I grew tired of listening to the same ‘ol white guys talking about how they are “making it”…blab, blab, blab… Don’t get me wrong it was interesting, but not enough diversity. Long story short, my life was changed when I stumbled upon Black Girls Talking because their conversations are the that my friend and I have. It’s nice to know that other black women have similar experiences as I do. We talked about what it’s like being a black woman, we talk about Empire, we talk about social issues, nerdy things, traveling, etc. For those of you who have a problem with this podcast, you may want listen and learn a few things. Anyhow, keep on doing great work ladies! I looking forward to the next episodes. Keep doing you! Also, I am surprised that they still haven’t found a sponsor esp. for being “on" for a few years. But I guess that is too be expected when you have "not going to name any names podcasts” who put out a “whenever we feel like it” podcast a few times a year hosted two white guys…and they have many sponsors. Audible why aren’t you sponsoring them?? Black women read too!

I love this podcast! BGT is hilarious, witty, and fun. Seriously, what other podcast are you going to find that eloquently breaks down the latest mainstream feminist fail while understanding the awesomeness that is Medicine for Melancholy and Jon B? I can't wait for more episodes!

I wanted to like this podcast. The first few episodes I listened to were interesting and really nice to listen to, about travel and beauty, and an alternative viewpoint. Then it progressively got pretty angry and whiney- not to mention pretty hateful towards anyone who isn’t black. Racism works...Read full review »
