Tuesday, the 10th of September, 1889. East End of London, England. Months have passed and it seems as though the Ripper hysteria is over. The Butcher however has killed again, leaving behind a scar on the victim that Jacob recognizes.

Mudgett meets his wife, Myrta, as she arrives in England. He resumes using the alias she knows him by: Dr. Henry Howard Holmes. They enjoy a romantic trip to Paris and Glasgow before returning back to Whitechapel.

Thursday, the 18th of October, 1888. Whitechapel, England. Inspector Reid receives a suspicious letter about Jack the Ripper from Major Stephenson. Reid asks Jacob to interview Stephenson at the hospital. While there, Jacob also gathers information about the Butcher.

Tuesday, the 2nd of October, 1888. Whitechapel, England. On a corner in Soho Square, Jacob recognized a prostitute working her patch. It was the woman who might have seen Faye's killer. Meanwhile, Mudgett and Stephenson attempt to perform a dark magic ceremony using the body parts they collected from their victims.

Sunday, the 30th of September, 1888. Whitechapel, England. In the last of a string of murders by Mudgett and Stephenson, they complete their dark work with Kate Eddowes in Mitre Square. Meanwhile, Jacob Springer has found body parts left behind from another killer, whom he calls the Fairchilde Butcher. He believes the Butcher murdered his mother and is not the same killer as the Ripper, so he sets out to gather more evidence. This episode contains graphic violence.

Wednesday, the 15th of August, 1888. Whitechapel, England. Herman Mudgett had business in London, but for the trip, he called himself Dr. Harold Pratt. He brought skeletons from Chicago to sell to the Medical School at the London Hospital. While there, he confirmed that an old friend, Major Roslyn D'Onston Stephenson, a practitioner of black magic, was checked in to the Currie Ward. He’d hoped old "Sudden Death" Stephenson could help him with his "shadow".

Tuesday, the 27th of December, 1887. East End of London, England. Jacob Springer learns how his mother, known around London as Fairy Faye, was murdered. He discovers there may also have been a witness to her abduction. Along with family friend, Jackie Chevalieux, Jacob meets Detective Inspector Edmund Reid and offers to help with the investigation.
