“I discovered this podcast about three weeks ago, when professional wrestling podcaster Nate Milton mentioned Black on Black Cinema during his weekly review of TNA Impact Wrestling. (I’m a 44-year-old African American man with a Ph.D. and a love of pro wrestling; so sue me.) I immediately searched for the podcast and began listening to episodes. For some reason, I clicked on the Baby Boy review. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. I would have written a review sooner, but I had to listen to the Baby Boy review again. And again. And again. And . . . well, you get the point. I have also listened to reviews of several other films and found each conversation to be entertaining and enlightening.
I don’t know whether the podcast has covered Cooley High yet — it, not Boyz N the Hood, is the first film to reference the symbolic act of pouring some out for a dead loved one — but I hope they’ll do so soon.
Keep up the good work, brothers,
