Truth is kryptonite to right-wing conservatives
In "Blast the Right", Jack Clark demonstrates how to demolish right wing mythology using as a weapon the one thing most destructive to their twisted world views -- the truth. The contemporary right wing has none of the common sense, personal integrity, or commitment to civic responsibility that were among the redeeming qualities of traditonal conservatives a couple generations ago. Modern right wingers have abandoned any concern for the common good, and now consist of self-serving wealthy elites who are more concerned with the health of corporate profits than of their fellow citizens. They have used money to control the media and government, and manipulate the public with sophisticated propaganda that exploits fear, prejudice, and religion to fool the very people they ruthlessly exploit and ruin the lives of. But for all their money and power, they have to lie, manipulate, and distort to conceal and distract from the reprehensible harm done to the majority of the public by the wealthy elite’s real agenda and actions. They are forced to wage a constant battle against truth and reality itself, and the public’s clear perception of what’s really going on. Maintaining such deception is increasingly hard in the modern world, and this is the great weakness of the right that Jack Clark expertly shows how to take advantage of, with concisely stated and meticulously sourced arguments and information that shred the right’s perverse and distorted world view and self-deluding rationales for acting abominably in contradiction to the most basic notions of human decency. While the show is American and focuses mostly on the USA, we Canadians should listen closely to this show to learn better how to fight the right wing elements emerging in Canada, including the current Harper-led Conservative federal government, who take their cue, and money both overt and covet, from their American counterparts. Also, be aware that in both Canada and the USA, opinion polls have shown year after year that a solid majority of the public actually hold relatively progressive political and social views, even if many people not to don’t recognize them as such due to corporate media misinformation. The right wing conservative viewpoints so prevalent in the corporate media actually only represent that small minority of wealthy elites, but passes itself off as "mainstream" opinion. In "Blast the Right", you’ll learn about this and much more.Read full review »

Okay, so I'm the butt of most of Mr. Clark's political tirades, but I can't help myself: I enjoy his program. It's not so much his underlying political philosophy as the way he presents it: it's entertaining. Combined with the occassional use of Jack's dry sense of humor and utter passion for...Read full review »
