Katy & Jessie continue to impress by holding more than one thing in their minds at once. I particularly appreciate their discussions/exchanges surrounding the ethics of reporting and whistleblowers. Their podcast is a must.

I like B&R so much I paid the $55 and am now a primo. But I doubt I’ll buy the merch.

The best thing about getting up on Monday is listening to this podcast. Katie and Jesse. Have a great chemistry. Although Jesse is gone for a while, she’s made up for his absence with great guests. Keep up the good work.

Is that it gives this podcast good material to report on. Very funny, frank, and insightful.

B&R is not a primary news source but it will help you read the news, learn and understand the world better. It teaches me to look sideways and stories and, although I’m not going to “do the research” every time, I can at least read with a touch more doubt.

This is the only podcast I never miss an episode of. Funny, smart and not beholden to any ideology. Transparent in their reporting. Willing to criticize themselves. A model for other podcasts.

The podcast content itself is great. However, their substack community is no better than the interent drama they discuss every week. As a disabled veteran, I was made fun of, trolled, and felt generally unwelcome by other subscribers unless I talked about what the Community wanted to talk about...Read full review »

Jesse and Katie cured my depression, and my ED. Thank you.

Are the best, the snarkiest, and still tackle some tough stuff. Keep up the good work!

Jesse and Katie give their considered and witty take an social media and general weird zeitgeist. Highly rated!!!

I learned a long time ago that emotions are important in life, but they serve no useful purpose in trying to understand important topics that affect all us. In healthy dialogue, if the point is to learn from one another we have to put aside our own needs to be understood (e.g. “hey look how...Read full review »

According to repeat guest Helen Lewis, any & all Christian activity is “Christian Nationalism.” It’s interesting how Jesse stops being a “pervert for nuance” in the face of Lewis’s not-at-all nuanced bigotry.

So much hate, war, and poverty in the world yet you choose to use your energy to cater to the transhopes and bigots at large. This is what dumb people think smart people sound like. Enjoy the grift! Happy holidays!

Jesse and Katie have an amusing banter and I have never listened to an episode that didn’t make me laugh at least a couple of times. And I don’t laugh much, I’m not a laughy guy, so that says something. People of all ages and most political stripes make up their audience: you discover this if you...Read full review »

If you’re looking for a podcast that does mental gymnastics for 90 minutes to defend a genocide, you’re in the right place!

Awful, they complain about getting cancelled, honestly it’s ridiculous, you love the term , it brings you traffic , money and fake , poor little loves. Just melting in the heat

Not everybody’s cup of tea, but give it a few episodes. Some are pure internet silliness and some are substantive, and they’re all entertaining.
DWCann via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/18/23
Used to really enjoy this podcast, especially their dissections of the media and cultural controversies. But can only take so much Katie, who seems like a deeply unserious person dining out on a single long-ago story that got her attention and the mantle of “expertise.” This week she’s making...Read full review »

This is a podcast by two people whose only idea is “things that make me uncomfortable are bad.” If you want to listen to two sheltered neurotics wringing their hands, you’ve found your jag.

Hosts have great chemistry and I enjoy the banter and in-jokes. Plus I’m a sucker for context and nuance so I was hooked after only a couple of episodes.

A delight to listen to! I love the light, teasing banter between the hosts, even when they are discussing serious topics. The two hosts have great podcast chemistry with each other. I have learned so much about Internet nonsense and I never miss an episode.

I listen every week to Jesse and Kaites insight on the absolute nonsense humans get up to. Im so close to becoming a “Primo” also Happy Birthday Jesse.

Genuinely well balanced show, even more so now that it includes NBA updates, I hope this continues.

Both hosts are great, though Jesse deserves extra credit for his commitment to moderating his voice and offering a balanced take on culture war squabbles.

Hearing you call Nelson Mandela a terrorist with no context of the details of violent apartheid was cringey, ignorant, and wildly insensitive. Also saying that Howard Zinn was somehow misinformed without actually having any information to prove it just because we hate hearing people call America...Read full review »

Katie and Jesse are always providing a well thought out, journalistic perspective, on issues I couldn’t possibly understand.

Jesse and Katie go all the way down the internet rabbit hole to properly contextualize all manner of dumb electronic scuffles. Jesse and Katie tread the boundary between humor, controversy and reporting. Very thought provoking in an area rife with hysteria and virtue-signaling. Funny ‘takes’ on ‘internet histrionics’ and ‘mob behavior’ … like getting play-by-play reports from Salem, MA, in 1690’s without the hangings.

Two progressive but wokeness shell shocked millennials with good journalistic values help evaporate the shallow pool of time remaining to you by minutely dissecting woke internet dust ups etc. And yet somehow it’s also the funniest podcast going. Even though I don’t agree with him, I admire Jesse’s courage to stand up for his beliefs and make the case that Jeffrey Epstein was an American hero.

This show has great potential but please, I beg the hosts to stop wasting time talking about their own lives at the start of each episode. Anyone listening is here for interesting stories about conflicts, and I can’t stress enough how deeply boring it is to listen to 10+ minutes of idle chitchat...Read full review »

The Israel discussion was revealing in that this current crisis has separated the heterodox journalists from the contrarian hacks, with this pod firmly in the latter. Finally a decent and genuine reflection of what is happening in our culture around the rocket like speedway of gender affirmation. I’ve listened to dozens of these episodes and they have helped calm me and seize language and protocols for how to speak about the wave of dysphoria that is our young...Read full review »
