These guys are seemingly pretty young and that, for me, is the biggest problem. They love their profanity, and who doesn't? But here it often comes out sounding like a schoolboy amongst peers in a secret clubhouse trying to sound grown up. At times it becomes annoying. Also it seems that they haven't been exposed to enough of the horror genre to really be able to put things into perspective. A recent show had them each listing their 5 most disturbing (or was it shocking?) film moments. Most of the movies they drew from were dreadful, mainstream pablum. Frankly, Dario Argento alone could easily top each of their choices single-handedly. (Argento was credited with one). And to discuss shocking or disturbing moments and not mention such classics as Salo, Singapore Sling or Men Behind the Sun for example shows a lack of movie experience. On the positive side the show is pretty slickly produced, has some neat regular features and doesn't lack enthusiam. I will listen. Mondo Movies is the gold standard and these guys are the farm system. Perhaps in time they too will be able to play in the big leagues. Finally, as someone elsewhere reported, John (or is it Jon?) has a very tiresome tendency to overuse the term "like." As in "This podcast like is really like good and like I listen all the time." A little speech therapy perhaps?Read full review »

How can you not like Schaars and the pigeons outside his window ruining every podcast? And of course, everybody loves Papa Bear...Read full review »

I enjoy the show, as it's one of the few horror-centric podcasts out there that releases material on a regular basis. However, the typing during the show makes it difficult to listen sometimes. Here is what I mean-- one of the hosts types on his keyboard during the show, and it reverberates...Read full review »

I'm fairly new to podcasts, and have been scouring the horror podcast community for the past couple of months, and I haven't come across a better one than this. The discussions are in depth, but not to the point of being overly anaylitical, and are light enough to be easy listening. If you...Read full review »
