Ultra-processed foods are everywhere, and we eat them every day. Most of them are considered delicious treats. But they are also associated with serious health problems and chronic diseases.
So how can we maintain a balanced diet while also consuming ultra-processed foods? And what are the health concerns?

She’s a former Governor of the Tavistock & Portman NHS Mental Health Trust and the former Chair of the British Psychological Society's Training Committee in Counselling Psychology.

Sarah Bowen is a Professor of Sociology at North Carolina State University. Her work focuses on food systems, local and global institutions, and inequality in the United States, Mexico, and France. She is co-author of Pressure Cooker: Why Home Cooking Won't Solve Our Problems and What We Can Do About It.
