“What I especially like about this podcast is that the hosts manage to comment on the literary-industrial complex without getting too mired in it. Their observations about writing and publishing are cogent, honest, and down-to-earth. They discuss writing and reading the same way other people talk about sports, cars, or food. It's something they clearly enjoy thinking and talking about, but something they can do in plain language that doesn't depend on jargon and name-dropping.
