Good company
As someone who lives in the middle of nowhere for her job, I rely on podcasts for company. And it seems increasingly difficult to find a podcast that is not off-puttingly overproduced and self-aggrandizing. Mike and Tom are like the wise-cracking buddies you had in grad school; genuinely good and emphatic people who were not afraid to tell you that you needed deodorant, or that maybe that douche you're dating didn't have your best interests in mind. I like how they don't take themselves too seriously, that their occassional angry rants are genuine, their thoughts on literature balanced and open, and that they seem like two very close friends who like and admire each other while still making fun of each other mercilessly.Read full review »
