Great inspiration for reading, writing, & travel
I love Joanna Penn's other podcast (The Creative Penn) and I was happy to hear she created another one. I've listened to the first few episodes of Books and Travel and can't wait for more. The theme music is lush and atmospheric, setting the stage for a delightful escape. From the first episode, Joanna's love of travel shines. She shares her own story about how travel has shaped who she is as a person and as a reader and writer. The interviews with other writers about how travel has influenced them are wonderful. For some people, travel fuels our creative fire. Clearly that's the case for Joanna Penn. This inspiring podcast reminds me how important travel is to my own author journey. Highly recommended!Read full review »

More reviews of Books And Travel
I’m not sure which podcast I like better of Joanna’s - The Creative Penn or Books and Travel. Both are so enjoyable. I loved your memories of Malawi. They reminded me of my first trip abroad to the Netherlands which also included memories of Paul Simon’s Graceland! Thank you so much.

The personal episodes are a great travel memoir told by an experienced storyteller. The interviews are deep dives into each specific location and how authors use those locations in their writing.

A podcast celebrating the double joy of reading and travel. Jo Frances Penn’s enthusiasm is infectious and her informative interviews explore the less known side of popular areas. I can already feel my Places to Visit list expanding.
