With love and compassion
I used to struggle with meeting girls and talking with them. From my earliest childhood, I have been teased and picked at for my physical appearance. I have been turned down far more than I have been dated. I guess the biggest difference between the incel community and myself is rather than blame other people (women) for my own personal failings and flaws, I worked from a young age to better myself. I never got angry at a girl for saying no, but all those “no’s” turned me into a more confident and resilient person. But retreating from society to these “support groups” is making it more difficult for incels to find acceptance among anyone else but themselves. The sheer amount of self pity and self loathing and self estrangement is frightening.

As the mother of a young son and daughter this podcast was so important for me to listen to. It is so well made and interesting, I just feel like there is so much more behind the story.

Sad, and scary. It doesn’t shy away from hard questions. I had some discomfort with the way Evan participated. I felt at times that he was too vulnerable.
