“Eric - 3 stars for trying and getting some discussion going. Try having a guest who’s older than 30 for balance. Your Pollyanna appeal to do the right thing is incredibly naive. Most people already are doing fine on the internet. Your audience should be those not participating well with others (as we learned in Kindergarten), but those bad actors. This supposedly awesome “platform” of (un)social media is an unqualified disaster. Our kids have no idea how much they are giving away access to themselves. Companies used to have to pay to advertise to us and only when we allowed it (ie when we tuned in on TV or picked up a print source). Now people run around giving their lives away with unchecked, unlimited access right in their own pockets. Supposedly this makes us happier and more connected - both have been utterly disproven through research and unending evidence to the contrary. This is the legacy of Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg - they created a monster they couldn’t control out of the desire for profit. Hopefully the rest of us don’t forfeit our souls to them.”
