“I enjoyed Breakdown much more than I expected.
It doesn't have the same intrigues that Serial or Making a Murderer did and lacks much of the drama of those pieces as a result. However, Bill Rankin's friendly, light delivery still drew me in and the case still had me hooked.
I appreciated the way Rankin's focus was less on the murder mystery and more on the failings of the criminal justice system. It serves very much like a case study. In fact, it reminded me of an old journalism professor of mine who would tell stories about the investigations he'd done.
