“I was disappointed in the episode on cats and birds. It missed a whole benefit of having cats roaming around which is rodent control etc. my neighbors cat used to hang out in my yard all the time and he was so good at killing rats. After he died my garden was overrun with rats and now I have to have bait boxes which are not good for birds. The Audubon society is against rat poison because the poison in the rodent can get inside the bird of prey eating them. But the Audubon society is also against catsAnd thinks they should be kept inside or euthanized.So you really missed an opportunity to discuss cats and rodent control. because rat population is deeply connected to how many cats are out and about. This episode tried to be balanced but in the end it basically supports the stance of the Audubon society. Not very nuanced”
