“Hedley Thomas is an excellent journalist and, more than that, an outstanding advocate for women. What we hear throughout this podcast — and others he has done — is misogyny: the abusive, controlling men who think their partners are their property; the police who disregard violence against women and ignore the female friends of those women who raise the alarm; the DPPs who don’t decide to prosecute. I wish I could say things were different now and that society valued women, but just looking at the rape conviction rates here on the UK I know, as all women know, that nothing has.”
