I love hearing how you guys are giving Maddie a go as an analyst on this podcast. She’s a lovely intelligent young woman. To Hedley I say thank you once again - from a woman who could have been a victim but escaped in time - you’re advocacy is legendary. You deserve an OAM if you don’t have one...Read full review »

Keeping episodes behind a paywall seems to have had a negative effect and potentially damaged the podcast’s brand.

Riddle me this. While Johns in Sydney he gets a neighbour to break into house to check phone due to it being engaged for days. Why would John need the neighbour to break in when he thought Bronwyn was back at the house? Wouldn’t he ask the neighbour to maybe knock on the door first rather than...Read full review »

Started out strong but this podcast should have finished at the end of the first season. We seem to be rehashing the same content and there are too many new characters adding irrelevant info and confusing the storyline.

I have loved Hedleys past podcasts but this one is now feeling way too drawn out. I also don’t think the young girl (I think her name is Maddy?) needs so much airtime. I’ve had to skip over her several times now as she seems a little immature and it takes away the seriousness of the case.

It was good to begin with but unfortunately it is so repetitive. We get it the first time . Please just move on . It seems like you are trying to fill up episodes . Please just keep going forward .

FYI In 1993 Daylight Saving only went for 5 months. Changed to 6 months in 2008.

I love Hedley’s investigative podcasts. He’s doing something about all the women killed by their partners at a time when police never investigated this. I hope she gets justice.

I reckon we are on the verge of something big. There has been a couple of subtle hints but I am going to call it. I reckon Katie Page is the CEO of Harvey Norman.

I’m a bit bored TBH. Feel like this poor woman’s story is being milked by everyone. Hedley, the Australian, HN, Maddie, social media sleuths. Expected more. Expected better. I’m sure sure many will listen and try and solve it. But the victims are being forgotten amongst the circus.

Getting boring now. Really hope person responsible for Bronwyns disappearance is revealed. Such a horrific shame that children had a dedicated mother taken away. The inclusion of the young female volunteer seems odd and unnecessary, at times feels inappropriate too which I can’t actually define,...Read full review »

Barely able to listen with the constant advertising interruptions re subscribing or Harvey Norman’s CEO interrupting. I feel like profits are more important in this one than the actual truth. Obviously it cost money to run an investigation but this is just too much

Its a great podcast but feeling a little left out even tho I subscribe to crime X of which you are a part, surely subscribers on Apple should get the additional podcasts?

After listening to all the episodes and then you put episodes 11 and 12 behind a paywall is just a major money grab! Not like you don’t get enough from sponsors and other money grabbers like Hardly Normal, 1 star from me from now on! Disappointed!
DOEHEAD453 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 11/02/24
I hope they solve this case, it’s a bit boring to listen to though. However, it’s the best theme music I’ve ever heard ! Love it.

Why now? The latest episodes are for paying listeners only! I was always a bit suspicious of the sponsor. Support for women? Highlighting domestic violence? Only for paying customers. Those who don’t want to give Murdoch/Page their money, miss out on the conclusion on what is otherwise fantastic...Read full review »

Putting greed above justice. This is what selling out to Harvey Norman results in. Also why is Maddie here? Sharing her thoughts like a psychologist…with vocal fry. But at best she’s Hedley’s secretary.. Is she even being paid? Also don’t treat your audience as stupid. The set up with Maddie...Read full review »

Sadly, this podcast is nowhere near as entertaining or intriguing as teachers pet. I do hope the family gets their answers and can come to a place of peace at some point. But as for the podcast, listening to Molly (I can’t recall if that’s her name) is a chore, I appreciate her getting a chance...Read full review »

I’ve loved HT’s previous podcasts and style of investigative journalism. I don’t feel Maddy has been a positive addition for this one- her tendency to make assumptions, state the obvious, present possibilities and opinions as certainties, and her somewhat immature vocab (“insane, crazy, weird”)...Read full review »

Why release a podcast then withhold episodes to people outside Australia? Instead of listening to your podcast I’m now just following the updates via google and the media . Just makes no sense

Amazing podcast but I have to say Crystal needs to stop acting like a brat!!

Didn’t fancy subscribing to listen to Season 2 but just listened to the only ep they have released to non-subscribers. Even on 1.5 speed I found myself groaning from the repetition… that whole episode could have been covered in 10 minutes. Really could have done without the staged phone call with...Read full review »

Maddie’s voice is so grating, it’s like Kylie Mole all over again. To use her as an ‘on air expert’ just because she’s related feels misguided.

Paywall .. doesn’t flow ..like teachers pet did .. bordering on boring .. sorry
pippybill via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 10/27/24
I hope this case gets solved but the podcast presents like an overly dramatised soap opera full of filler. HT seemed like a real journalist in The Teacher’s Pet. Now it just seems like an exploitation of a family’s pain to make Rupert Murdoch richer. Putting random episodes behind a paywall so...Read full review »

For a ‘National’ paper, the saturation of NSW stories is entirely disproportionate.

I can’t listen to Maddie’s vocal fry. It’s torturous.

Making the fans pay for episodes 11 and 12 - what an absolute joke!

So bizarre jumping from episode ten to thirteen. Ridiculous

A very sad but interesting story - thank you to Hedley for his journalistic skills in bringing this cold case to the light of day and to the wider public. However, there is no way I will pay a subscription to a Murdoch newspaper just to listen to a podcast. I’m happy with banks of adds during...Read full review »

I’m a huge fan of Hedley’s work. Such a pity he’s not working with other greats like Kate McClymont and Nick McKenzie who have zero sponsorsship deals to support their fabulous journalistic work.
Poddie luva via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 10/26/24
I love a good Hedley podcast but having Maddy assist him with this investigation really brings down the quality of the podcast. Hedley will prompt her with questions "what did you think?" and she'll reply "yeah it's crazy" or simply agree with what he said. There is no...Read full review »

Love the podcast and what the team has done to get to the bottom of this case for Bronwyn and her family! Always want more every week!

What a shame we have to pay for season 2… you’ve lost me HT

I had really loved this podcast until it stopped for months and the new series is now chargeable. Don’t waste your time with the first series and you won’t be able to find out the end!

Extremely disheartened at not been able to listen to the rest of Bronwyn! Subscribers only what a joke 🤬

What is with having to subscribe to continue listening.. seems shady to me. Not what I would expect from HT.

So disappointed to find that season 2 is for paid subscribers only. I genuinely believed that the purpose of this podcast was to do good, not to make money.

Enjoyable podcast but now seems to be behind a paywall, disappointing.
olliedavies3 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 10/21/24
Very disappointed season 2 of the Bronwyn podcast is for paid subscribers only. Isn’t the whole idea of the podcast to ‘shake’ information and memories out of listeners to hopefully find this poor lady and seek justice for her? Your audience has now rapidly diminished

Even with a Crime X subscription you can’t listen past episode 10.

Amazing podcast but to then be left hanging unless you pay… Not right at all..! Just remember so many who gave you that 5 star rating and now, you watch that rating drop.
