Witches
I LOVE the podcast for so many reasons! Thanks for the information on the communion wafers, and as you were talking about Witch I wanted to bring up another historical point. From the 15th Century to the early 18th Century, tens of thousands of innocent women (and some men) were accused of being witches, tortured and murdered (usually burned at the stake). Buffy is about creating a family of choice and overcoming discrimination - our own and others' - through acceptance of those who are different from ourselves - and through honest and open communication. We have reclaimed the term witch - but it is good to remember that for hundreds of years it was not safe for women to speak out, to be smarter than men, to show their knowledge of healing, etc. etc. This was a travesty based on ignorance and hatred that we now kind of joke about, but good to remember and learn from and strive to not let ignorance and prejudice rule our world. A constant battle. Thank you for creating a forum to talk about all these ideas, to remember the awesome details of amazing characters! Plus - shoes!Read full review »

This is awesome, I'm rewatching Buffy alongside this podcast and it's the best! Kristin and Jenny do a great job of making sure they talk about every single detail, alongside smashing the patriarchy and finding the gay in each episode. :DRead full review »
