Great journalism let down by a poor production choice
Excellent presentation of what must have been hellish hard work digging through the FinCEN material. Clear and concise, it's probably worth listening to first before reading the team's reports. The Felix Sater interview is a real coup. Whilst I'm lost in admiration for the journalism, the reason the show's not got five stars is the music. Why spend all that money on editors and dubbing mixers (who did a brilliant job) only to skimp on the soundtrack? It sounds like they only had two or three looped tracks to cover all the episodes. Doomy, repetitive, and dire, the music undercuts all their hard work. I guarantee some listeners will stop listening half-way through the series. They probably won't know why they find the show such hard going and depressing, but they won't come back. Such a shame because music should be there to unobtrusively enhance a production. I really hope they don't make this very common mistake again (they are definitely not alone, we've all done it).Read full review »

More reviews of Suspicious Activity
This might be a very interesting story, but you won’t know because the delivery is so painful. How you can spend an entire episode talking about what a big deal this story is, without building suspense or actually telling the story, is beyond me.

PS- suspicious activity reports are confidential, financial institutions aren’t allowed to disclose their existence, even if subpoenaed. So, they’re doing their jobs, reporting in initial reports, and...Read full review »
