“I've only listened to the first episode, not sure I'll listen to the rest based on the fact that the hosts demonstrated a lack of very basic knowledge about the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, which is integral to the plot of the first season. (One of the hosts watched all five seasons and STILL didn't know why Major Campbell worked with the British?) Even a tiny bit of research into the backdrop of the series would have helped them. But worse, the hosts engage in casual banter that reduce/objectify the female characters. It's clear the hosts love Peaky Blinders, as many millions do. However, I want to listen to a podcast where the hosts offer smart insight too. I might give Episode 2 a listen to hear whether this podcast series offers any hope for that beyond the otherwise adequate scene-by-scene breakdown.”Read full review »
