“"Calling Out" is a new show from Carolla Digital about talking to the dead. No, seriously!
As a fan of the Adam Carolla Show and Gina Grad I was expecting big things from this podcast. I was let down.
I know in order to grow the brand, adding more diverse shows to the already solid Carolla Digital network is necessary, but why something so obviously polarizing and downright insulting to some of us diehard Carolla fans?
I knew very little about Susan Pinsky before listening, but to discover the wife of Dr. Drew is a wu-wu nutjob was a sobering shock.
It's doubly-so for Gina Grad, who I've perceived as a talented, intelligent woman. Yet listening to one of the most obvious cold-readers I've ever heard making Gina sob with belief she's in contact with her dead grandmother was nauseating. *(note - if you listen to the first episode, Gina plays directly into the psychic's hands, giving away information the quack repeats back to her almost immediately!)
It's not for me, but perhaps it will find an audience and make Adam some money. Even better, maybe they'll change format and earn an audience worthy of Carolla's legacy.”Read full review »
