Wow!
I’d heard of Critical Role of course, but beyond watching the animated version of Vox Machina, was years behind the curve in listening to them. When my partner mentioned listening to the first episode of Candela Obscura and enjoying it, I decided that finally I could get in at the beginning of a campaign and decided to give it a listen too. Best. Decision. Ever. I love the world - Murdoch Mysteries meets The X-Files meets H. P. Lovecraft. I love the fun the players are having as they experience the world, and learning about it with them is just wonderful. The only small problem I have with it is that we don’t follow any particular Circle for more than 3 episodes, when I could stay listening to their adventures for … oh, forever? I am not usually moved to leave reviews for podcasts, let alone 5 star ones, but if you’re into Victorian/Steampunk gothic horror, this is definitely your podcast. I even want to play.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this new series, being a fan of horror and Edwardian vibes. GMs are incredible so far (my favourite being Aabriya) and so are the players. Thank you for making me laugh and cry, and gasp in surprise!
