Bidet. All of it is good. Ashley’s character is outstanding, and the chapter 2 GM, Spencer Starke, is brutal and amazing. This show has just the right amount of spooky. I love it! Also, my group played through the free materials that were released, and I bought my GM the new book for Christmas....Read full review »

Honestly, these episodes continually destroy me with the quality of story telling, so much incredible tension and genuinely spine tingling moments! I just wish they were more often because I am ADDICTED

Can recommend for all fans of Lovecraftian and/or Gothic horror. I admit that the underlying world and game are still young, and therefore the different „circles“ have a significantly different feel and performance style. Nevertheless, worth a listen.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this new series, being a fan of horror and Edwardian vibes. GMs are incredible so far (my favourite being Aabriya) and so are the players. Thank you for making me laugh and cry, and gasp in surprise!

All the greatness and fun of Critical Role mixed with some supernatural/paranormal content!

I’d heard of Critical Role of course, but beyond watching the animated version of Vox Machina, was years behind the curve in listening to them. When my partner mentioned listening to the first episode of Candela Obscura and enjoying it, I decided that finally I could get in at the beginning of a...Read full review »

Listened to first two seasons and was sad that I felt nothing for any character. Didn’t feel any arc was present and the gameplay itself was lacklustre. Love CR and all three DnD seasons but was a tough one to listen to and finish. Will go re listen to MN to re support!!

Would rate 4.5 starts if I could, I really like this podcast. I’m a casual tabletop RPG player, and this is easily better than 85% of RPG podcasts I’ve tried listening to. My only gripe is that it’s so similar to the Call of Cthulhu (and even Arkham Horror) systems that it seems like a stretch to...Read full review »

Let me live in Newfaire with Sean, Jean, Nathaniel, Marion, and Auntie Bee foreverrr 💛 The players for Chapter 2 were so, so perfectly chosen. I am wholeheartedly invested in this series and am BEGGING Critical Role or Darrington Press to give Spenser a weekly campaign I can obsess over, because...Read full review »

This show is creepy, fun and interesting. The game mechanics are good, the stakes are higher than a DnD game which I enjoy. I also like the three session length format.

Having cut their teeth in the first three-part instalment the Critical Role team are back with a superbly crafted horror TTRPG that translates well into a podcast experience. The cast hit a home run!

If thousands of hours of Critical Role is too big a bite, Candela Obscura gives a good taste of what you can expect from the Critical Role channel with just a nibble of your time. Engaging characters, interesting plot, and Matt Mercer’s legendary descriptions and smooth handling of the unexpected...Read full review »

SO… production value is top notch, very entertaining and fun! Everyone does so well and compliments the other, each with high moments where they steal the show… but even with all that taken into account .. Robbie, and his character idea, are my favorite parts, so many good moments where I was...Read full review »

A incredible new roleplaying game taking the genre of Supernatural Horrors to the Next level. I haven’t seen anything this insane since Luigi’s Mansion!(Long story short I don’t watch horror movies) Critical Role’s cast of hilarious voice actors take on a more serious story as their cast of...Read full review »

This is a mix of live radio play with a Dungeons and Dragons campaign mixed set in a steampunky magical world. I can’t get enough of this new type of media! The voice actors are having such fun and it translates right to the listener. Bravo!!! Can’t wait for more
