Honest, informed, and judgment-free
Catie and Erik discuss mental illness, mostly ADHD, from the most refreshingly authentic, honest, and grounded perspective. I live with -- and often struggle with -- mental illness, and I so appreciate these two especially because they are so cognizant of the shame and judgment that often come with dealing with these issues. The episode on hygiene, in which they openly discuss the difficulty of tasks like brushing your teeth and showering, is remarkable for the way neither Catie nor Erik ever veers into judgment of particular behaviors being gross. They speak plainly and honestly, and they talk about their strategies. The absence of “should,” the absence of any scolding or added shame about the struggle of managing hygiene with ADHD… it’s life-saving. I am so grateful for this show and look forward to much more.

I love listening to this podcast. I just started listening with like 18 episodes out and I listened to all of them in like 3 days. I’ve shared episodes with my friends and my family (I made my husband listen to it to explain some things about my brain to him) it’s bomb and I love it!
