Just finished listening to Wild Boys. I also grew up in Vernon just a block away from the yellow hostel. I moved away before the bush boys landed in Vernon but remember hearing about them. Sam did such a beautiful job of painting Vernon’s character and I could absolutely picture every interaction and know people just like Tammy and the other generous people who tried to help the boys. I was memorized by Sam’s storytelling and binged the whole thing in one day. I’m so glad that the story continued as like many, I want to know what happened after and what was were their reasons for doing what they did. Thanks for uncovering the full picture Sam. As a mother, a Vernonite, and someone who always wants to know the story behind the story, I could relate to so much.
