“In an ideal world I would play every single RPG out there; but in reality that's impossible. I just don't have that kind of time so I have to be extra judicious in my choice of games. That's why Character Creation Cast has become one of my favorite podcasts. Their informative and in-depth dive into the character creation process of RPGs is a fantastic way to judge whether or not a specific game is for me. I decided to try Traveller and Blades in the Dark just because of them. On the same note, I don't really like the episodes where the creator of the game is also a guest. They can't be objective or critical of the game they're discussing, so it ends up feeling a lot like a promotion. Most episodes are not like that, however, and so most guest are great at pointing both what makes a game great but also what makes it flawed. That makes for the most interesting discussions, imo.
