“This podcast is based on an interesting and exceptionally unfortunate case.
The first 4 episodes are well paced and structured and appear to be leading towards a conclusion that might even allow the listener to conclude ‘whodidit’
It creates an honest description of the various characters involved,in particular the lead characters (Nicola) faliabilities.
But for some reason the last couple of episodes just fall in to a nothing-ness of b-grade journalism, the kind of questions that 15 year old kids might ask in an interview:’are you angry?’, ‘what you you like to say that the person that did it?’. Meaningless self-answering questions. It gets frustrating to listen to.
You get grumpy because you’ve invested your time in a podcast series only to be heavily let down by the soft conclusion.
Sometimes it better to leave the listener suspended.
The cops are obviously non-committal, and most of the subjects are barely coherent.
The premise is good, unfortunately the podcast never gets part 2nd gear. By the end you’re wishing it would end.”
