Is it biased though?
I’ve listened to a lot of political podcasts from all sides. A. Lot. I’m registered Independent, and I do lean Left on many policies. But I like to hear from everyone. How else do we understand where people are coming from, right? And after skimming through negative comments, seeing so many low ratings stating this show is Leftist or Left-biased, I argue: Is it Leftist or could said upset listeners be so deep in Right media that anything that doesn’t resemble such seems Leftist? I’ll leave [further] opinion out of that argument, but I will say that I enjoy listening to Checks and Balances more than most political podcasts. They go deeper and provide history to back up information, and I appreciate that effort (even though I’ll still research on my own for most topics). Sure, maybe the contributors are Left-leaning, but I don’t pick that up without having heard a couple episodes where one of them will pause and clarify that they want to remain neutral and work to strip bias from the words that come out of their mouths. I find this highly admirable. So, I’d say it’s a safe bet that if you listen to FoxNews or Breitbart or any [Far] Right media outlets as go-to sources for information, anything neutral is going to upset you or maybe even entice you to label it “Leftist.” If not, give this show a chance. They pack more in than many shows, and the contributors do try to remain balanced and thoughtful. I recommend it.

Really great insight into how the global economy and political realm really works and how it interacts with the US. The latest episode about the technology war made a lot of sense to me. I never really thought about it like that. The people complaining about “globalist” bias are probably just...Read full review »

I’m a political junkie and this is my favourite podcast covering the 2020 race. Each (short 30 min) episode dives into one theme that relates to what’s going on politically/culturally in America that week. Love it! All the harsh ratings are rude
