Trump 2.0
A really excellent episode. Chilling to hear Paul Dans’ combination of apparent lucidity and incoherence on the elimination of the ‘establishment’. A second Trump term would be just as chaotic, but just in a different way. Sorry to hear that Charlotte is struggling with the geography of this great city. As a Londoner for over 40 years, I can reassure her that every journey on foot can still be a rewarding voyage of discovery through 2000 years of history. Embrace the mess!

More reviews of Checks and Balance from The Economist
I love this program & look forward to it every week. Needed to get used to snarky Charlotte but she is less confrontational to Fassman than before. Excellent POV on current news here in the US, but the added historical perspective makes it even better. Continue it after the election please.

This podcast is one of my current favourites (also check out David Runciman’s Talking Politics). It’s thoughtful, informed and not afraid to ruffle feathers (left and right). It’s given me a new interest in The Economist- including its other podcasts. Invaluable.

The infamous 1950s Communist hunter was Joseph McCarthy, not the 1960s anti-Vietnam war politician Eugene McCarthy!
