“On my V.I.P (“Very Important Podcast”) list.
I’ve just discovered this 4 months ago.
I love how, every time I begin to think that “now!” I know a scintilla of “all-things-China”, I listen to Miles Yu and once again realize that I still really don’t have much of a ‘clue’.
But I’m learning.
I have now reached back as to episode 31, and Although it def is a NEWS show, there are some “evergreen” elements that really make me feel I understand not only the CCP, but also the history, country and the people of China better. (An example was an episode where they talked about the Chinese school exams and how this is determing for the course of ones' life in China.
Also Miles is so good at stressing the difference between “China” as a whole when we talk and read about it- and the government/CCP v the people.
From the first listening I got vibes to “What really matters”, the short format and three stories (which is to me also vip).
For me it could very easily be twice or even thrice as long without a problem, because it’s just so eye opening.
But I suspect this short format will reach a broader audience.
Sorry for this messy review but I have been meaning to post it for a long time so better now than forget it again.
