“I learned about this podcast while listening to Craftlit, and I've been enjoying ChopBard ever since. I took a course on Shakespeare in college as an elective, and I got to see a production of King Lear at the Folger many years ago, but I have mostly been on my own in watching and reading plays. I was thrilled to hear about this podcast, and started listening to the episodes in order the first chance I got. Taking a scene-by-scene approach can seem intimidating at first, but I think his method really helps to understand the plays more completely than an overall summary and review with just commentary on the play's major highlights. While commentary is fairly easy to find on Shakespeare, Ehren's perspective of as actor adds extra depth for me as an audience member; I had never really considered that aspect of the plays before. Besides his own experience and obvious passion for the work, Ehren puts a lot of work and research into each episode to really help his listeners understand the plays without obligating them to one specific interpretation. I look forward to each episode and Ehren's fresh and funny insights on Shakespeare. Bravo!”Read full review »

“I came to this podcast through Craftlit and it has become one of my favorites. The only problem is waiting for the next podcast to be put up on itunes. I guess I was spoiled in that I was able to list to all of them (Romeo and Juliet through most of Macbeth) on demand but now I have to wait...”Read full review »
