There's no G in onion.
Let me preface this review by mentioning the fact that it took my recently-turned-41-year-old-self nearly a week to figure out how to rate and review.. Technology has certainly come a long way from the days of the rotary phone, casette tape, and console Zenith. But I digress. I discovered this podcast November 1, 2022. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't be this specific in mentioning the date in which I began listening; that said, after turning 40, I've allowed myself a bit more wiggle room when it comes to my silly rules about the appropriate times to enjoy celebrating the various holidays, changing seasons etc. With age comes wisdom, and I've made peace with the fact that life is far too short to wait until the Thanksgiving fanfare dies down to indulge in all that is Christmas. And with that, I decided to peruse the ol' podcasts in hopes of finding something that could easily transition me from the post-Halloween sugar stupor to a Christmas state of mind. Enter Christmas Countdown. From the first moment I absolutely adored the show's content, the witty banter between Eric and Danny, as well as the lighthearted, feel-good humor as a whole. Their tangents about such topics as stuffing vs. dressing or is it a film or a television special are guaranteed to put a smile on my face and make a less than desirable day that much more enjoyable. Not only do they make their listeners laugh; their passion for everything they discuss has us all waxing nostalgic during each episode. In a world that's been having a tough go for quite some time, Christmas Countdown has become a much needed bright spot. If you have yet to listen, don't waste another moment. You won't regret it. Oh, and Eric? From one Chicagoan to another (a couple cities over in my hometown of Lombard, to be specific) there's no G in onion. It's definitely not a Chicago thing.Read full review »

This is such a great podcast! Danny and Eric’s countdowns are really good and include some classics and a lot of lesser known (but amazing!) picks. Plus, they are just a lot of fun to listen to, and you’ll feel like you are sitting around with friends chatting about all things Christmas!
