Fun, but often wrong
Adnan has always been my favorite "fill-in" espnradio host. In fact, when the regular hosts of any show are off for the day, I generally change the channel - except when he hosts. I like his general vibe and his love of movies and that he would often weave movie talk into the conversation on the radio. It matches my 2 great passions - sports and movies. I had somehow missed the fact that he had started a podcast, so I was excited to see him wearing the Cinephile t-shirt when hosting Mike & Mike over the holidays. Since then, I have been catching up on the old podcasts ... have listened to over half of them. So, here's my review (using his system). I love the interviews (4 maple leaves). I almost never agree with ANY of his Top 5 lists (1 maple leaf). His movie reviews are hit and miss, in general, for my taste. I think I would more often agree with his producer, Dan, on movie favorites (if he was rating them). I agree with the podcast review by the insurance guy from Nebraska - his Scorsese worship is a little over the top (1 maple leaf). No need to discuss Scorsese on EVERY show. Overall, I love his passion for movies (he sounds like I would if I had the opportunity to have my own podcast - just generally excited about movies and his love for cinema definitely comes through). So, I give the podcast as a whole 3.5 maple leaves. I will keep listening.Read full review »

More reviews of Cinephile with Adnan Virk
Adnan is a rising star at ESPN, often hosting Baseball Tonight and being on call to fill in effortlessly for Mike & Mike . It was a revelaion to learn of his passion for movies. He's smart, charming, and thoughtful. I listen to each episode of Cinephile and look forward to the next one.Read full review »

Adnan Virk is tremendous. Funny, smart, insightful...on and on. I'm a huge sports guy, but this podcast is a refreshing change of content. The guests so far (Will Arnett, Matthew Berry, and Denis Leary) have been great.
