Description
🎙️Welcome to episode 10 of CTRH Podcast, where we have real conversations intended to make an actual difference. Today I am joined by the formidable Dr. Nelly Bosire an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist practicing here in Nairobi, Kenya and notably serves as a member of the disciplinary and ethics committee at the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC). Patients today are better informed and have wide access online to medical information, both accurate & inaccurate. In this environment, doctors face the unique challenge of finding a balance between what the patient wants and what is best for their care. How then do we ensure best practice and high quality evidence based medical care while also respecting our patient’s rights? How do we avoid imposing our own personal beliefs on our patients? In this episode, we explore the various aspects of patient advocacy and safety and our role as doctors in ensuring patient rights are respected. We discuss how best to navigate ethical medical practice in today’s setting in order to Do No Harm. Dr. Bosire is a Kenyan Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with a deep passion for women’s health and all matters SRHR.
