This is one of the best podcasts I've ever heard. Kate Baker is wonderful and the stories have a depth that many of the scifi magazines have lost. I was a charter subscriber of Asimov's magazine and in the past year I find myself wondering why they picked their stories, they don't hold the reader's interest. But Clarkesworld's stories have me laughing or crying or rereading (or listening again) to the stories. I get the podcast and now I subscribe on my Kindle. My favorite story so far has been "Architect of Heaven". I'm on my 5th rereading (relistening?) and I am still finding new layers. This one should go for the Hugo!Read full review »

Most of the stories they pick go beyond just entertainment. One of the reasons I love Sci-Fi is how it can explore contemporary issues to their most logical extreme. These stories often offer interesting commentary on modern society including climate change, epidemics, and genetic engineering.
