Pls at Least Read the Material You're Talking About Before Talking
This is the sort of podcast I'd be really interested in listening to generally. I've only listened to about 5 of the episodes, so this may not apply to most of the content, but I was incredibly disappointed by the level of engagement with the material. I listened to the episodes on Till We Have Faces and On Fairy-Stories, and as someone who's read both of those in the last six months it was an excruciating listen. With Till We Haves Faces I don't think anyone had read it in the last five years, and On-Fairy Stories at least two of the three hosts admitted to not being sure if they'd ever read it. You didn't even get half the basic details right about Till We Have Faces. Graeme, AJ, Thomas, I mean this only constructively: if you're going to talk about something, please at least have read it recently. Otherwise, you run the risk of perpetuating the stereotype of classical educators and classically educated people as people who know a little bit about a lot of things but don't know enough about anything.Read full review »

Quarantine has been rough so thank you A.J. For taking time to do this through quarantine! It’s super fun to listen to while doing Latin! (Or anything)

Would’ve been a great conversation but completely derailed over quibbling about animals vs humans. Completely missed the point of the book and heart of Girard’s ideas.
