“Enjoyed this conversation, but in listening to Paul Bloom, some or much of what he has concluded seems to be influenced by HIS experience as a white, privileged male in American society. Just because he may not be moved by the suffering of a collected other in other countries or even in our country, doesn't mean we as human beings, in general or specifically, experience this in the same way. I listened carefully to his argument eager to be changed; there may be some value here, but I'm not convinced on the whole. I really appreciate Alan Alda's willingness to be changed, as well.
